Every October, the National Women’s Business Council (NWBC) along with leaders in the women’s entrepreneurship community come together to reflect on the advancements made by women in business and celebrate women business owners. This month is special to us at The Original Granite Bracket® because we're a woman-owned business!
About the NWBC
Established as part of the Women's Business Ownership Act of 1988, the National Women's Business Council is an advisory body of women business owners. The council was asked to identify the barriers to success for women-owned businesses and report annually to the president and Congress on their findings.
The council is the government’s only independent voice for women entrepreneurs and is committed to:
- Conducting research on issues important to women business owners and their organizations
- Communicating these findings widely
- Providing a platform for change to expand and improve opportunities for women business owners and their enterprises
While women have made undeniable progress and tremendous advancements in starting and growing their own businesses, there are still barriers to gaining access to the resources needed for success. Please join us in celebrating the women who have persevered and become successful business owners.
The Original Granite Bracket® is proud to be a woman owned business!
Sandra Hersey started The Original Granite Bracket® to meet the need for hidden countertop support brackets in the construction industry. Not only is Sandra proud to be a woman owner in a male dominated field, she is extremely proud to own a company that manufactures its products in the USA with American steel. Bringing quality products to the masses while creating jobs in the U.S. is something Sandra stands on.
